Why should public and private organisations care about their mobility practices?

In Bikademy, we believe organizations should lead by example in shaping our communities. By implementing sustainable and efficient mobility practices, they gain multiple benefits, including cost savings, improved employee well-being, and a stronger brand reputation.

Encouraging cycling, micromobility, and sustainable commuting not only reduces a company’s carbon footprint but also enhances productivity and employee engagement. It’s a win-win for all stakeholders. Employees who cycle and are active tend to be healthier, more energized, and more satisfied with their work-life balance.

Moreover, the organizations that prioritize sustainable mobility gain a competitive advantage while contributing to a healthier, more fulfilled future.

What connects sustainable corporate mobility and Bikademy?

Sustainable corporate mobility focuses on reducing car dependency, lowering emissions, and promoting active, efficient transport options. Bikademy aligns perfectly with these goals by making cycling more engaging and rewarding for both individuals and organizations.

At Bikademy, we encourage employees to explore cities and regions by bike and to incorporate cycling into their daily routines, such as commuting to work. Companies can integrate these features into their sustainability strategies and activities, thus reducing car dependency and promoting green mobility.

Additionally, Bikademy supports cycling tourism, local economic development, and accessibility, making it a valuable tool for businesses in tourism, urban planning, and corporate sustainability initiatives.

The data collected from Bikademy’s platform provides valuable insights for ESG reporting, demonstrating measurable contributions to sustainable corporate goals. By incorporating cycling into their mobility strategies, companies can actively reduce urban congestion, improve workplace health, and foster a culture of sustainability – all while making mobility more enjoyable and rewarding. Our value was also recognised by EIT Urban mobility, who supported us within their Accelerate2Move Market Readiness Accelerator.

How can Bikademy help organisations achieve their sustainability objectives?

Bikademy provides organizations with an accessible, functional, and innovative way to integrate cycling into their sustainability efforts. It offers both internal programs for employees and event-based initiatives, including Special Studies and Special Challenges.

With Internal Challenges, companies encourage employees to adopt cycling as a daily habit, whether for commuting or leisure. The platform tracks CO₂ savings, promotes well-being, and rewards top performers each month, fostering long-term behavior change while delivering measurable ESG impact.

For broader public engagement, organizations can launch Special Challenges, short-term events open to everyone. Participants contribute to a collective sustainability goal through cycling, helping businesses increase visibility, strengthen brand awareness, and position themselves as leaders in sustainable initiatives.
Through real-time tracking, Bikademy provides organizations with key insights, including total kilometers cycled, CO₂ reductions, and participation rates. These metrics offer valuable data for sustainability reports and public awareness campaigns.

Special Studies empower destinations, municipalities, and tourism boards to create immersive cycling experiences by showcasing cultural and natural landmarks. This initiative enhances eco-tourism, promotes sustainable mobility, and deepens community engagement with cycling.

Bikademy works with different clients, public and private. What are the key barriers to motivating active mobility in citizens and employees?

Well, we are all aware that the biggest barrier to active mobility is infrastructure. Many cities and workplaces lack secure, well-connected cycling lanes, safe bike parking, and essential facilities like showers and lockers. Without these, people are discouraged from choosing cycling as an everyday mode of transport. Of course, weather and seasonal limitations also play a role. In rainy, freezing, or extreme heat conditions, individuals are less likely to cycle unless infrastructure solutions – such as covered bike lanes, drying facilities, or other supportive measures – are in place.

A neglected but significant challenge is workplace culture and employees’ attitudes. Many perceive cycling as inconvenient, uncomfortable, or even unprofessional. For active mobility to be widely accepted, organizations must proactively support it through incentives such as rewards, company challenges, and leadership endorsements. A lack of awareness and incentives often holds people back. Without motivation – whether through rewards, gamification, or measurable sustainability impact – employees and residents tend to prioritize convenience over sustainable choices. That is where Bikademy helps!

Besides organisations, can we as individuals (employees) also benefit from Bikademy?

Yes, Bikademy transforms cycling and commuting into an engaging, rewarding, and fulfilling experience for employees. Through Internal Challenges, they can track their cycling activity, earn rewards, and monitor their environmental impact in real time. Whether commuting, exercising, or cycling for fun, every ride contributes positively to both personal well-being and sustainability efforts.

One of the greatest benefits is improved health and productivity. Regular cycling enhances physical fitness, reduces stress, and increases energy levels, leading to better concentration and overall work performance. Instead of being stuck in traffic or waiting for public transport, employees enjoy an active, refreshing commute to and from work.

Bikademy also fosters a sense of community and motivation in the workplace. Through friendly competition, tracking co-workers’ progress, and participating in company-wide cycling events, employees feel more engaged and encouraged to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.

Additionally, every ride contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions, benefiting both the individual and the company’s overall sustainability goals. You, as a citizen or an employee, become an active participant on the path toward smarter, greener mobility, making a tangible impact on the environment and society!
